And they made His grave with the wicked -- But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor [was any] deceit in His mouth.

saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And they said, "What [is that] to us? You see [to it!"]

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."

When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather [that] a tumult was rising, he took water and washed [his] hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see [to it."]

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, "I find no fault in this Man."

said to them, "You have brought this Man to me, as one who misleads the people. And indeed, having examined [Him] in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him;

"no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him.

But they shouted, saying, "Crucify [Him,] crucify Him!"

"And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."

So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous Man!"

Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no fault in Him at all.

Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, "Crucify [Him,] crucify [Him!"] Pilate said to them, "You take Him and crucify [Him,] for I find no fault in Him."

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, [who is] holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Those who hate me without a cause Are more than the hairs of my head; They are mighty who would destroy me, [Being] my enemies wrongfully; Though I have stolen nothing, I [still] must restore [it.]

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, [our] faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!"

And all the people answered and said, "His blood [be] on us and on our children."

But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed.

So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested.

From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, "If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar's friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar."

Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, "Behold your King!"

When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with [their] teeth.

and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"

But when they found out that he was a Jew, all with one voice cried out for about two hours, "Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians!"

And they listened to him until this word, and [then] they raised their voices and said, "Away with such a [fellow] from the earth, for he is not fit to live!"

Then, as they cried out and tore off [their] clothes and threw dust into the air,
