Then I heard a holy one speaking; and [another] holy one said to that certain [one] who was speaking, "How long [will] the vision [be, concerning] the daily [sacrifices] and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?"

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

"And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, [there shall be] one thousand two hundred and ninety days.

" Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

"Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.

"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here [is] the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe [it.]

"See, I have told you beforehand.

"For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

" But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.

"For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

The adversary has spread his hand Over all her pleasant things; For she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary, Those whom You commanded Not to enter Your assembly.

'Thus says the Lord GOD: "No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My sanctuary, including any foreigner who [is] among the children of Israel.

Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?"

And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.

Even things without life, whether flute or harp, when they make a sound, unless they make a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or played?

For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle?

Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.

Blessed [is] he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time [is] near.

Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number [is] 666.

"Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.

"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.
