And when He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this [Man] get this wisdom and [these] mighty works?

You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever.

And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing [Him] were astonished, saying, "Where [did] this Man [get] these things? And what wisdom [is] this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!

So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, "Is this not Joseph's son?"

And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.

and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.

And the Jews marveled, saying, "How does this Man know letters, having never studied?"

The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this Man!"
