Those also who seek my life lay snares [for me;] Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction, And plan deception all the day long.

Thus I am like a man who does not hear, And in whose mouth [is] no response.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

The place in the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer [is] silent, So He opened not His mouth.

So the eunuch answered Philip and said, "I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?"

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed [Himself] to Him who judges righteously;

'If a person sins in hearing the utterance of an oath, and [is] a witness, whether he has seen or known [of the matter -- if] he does not tell [it,] he bears guilt.

'And the priest shall put her under oath, and say to the woman, "If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness [while] under your husband's [authority,] be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.

'then the priest shall put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman -- "the LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD makes your thigh rot and your belly swell;

And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying, "Cursed [is] the man who eats [any] food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies." So none of the people tasted food.

And when the people had come into the woods, there was the honey, dripping; but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.

Then one of the people said, "Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, 'Cursed [is] the man who eats food this day.' " And the people were faint.

So the king said to him, "How many times shall I make you swear that you tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?"

Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own life; He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing.

But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"

As soon as it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together and led Him into their council, saying,

"And if I also ask [you,] you will by no means answer Me or let [Me] go.

Then they all said, "Are You then the Son of God?" So He said to them, "You [rightly] say that I am."

Then they said to Him, "Who are You?" And Jesus said to them, "Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."

Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say [rightly] that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

and saying, "You who destroy the temple and build [it] in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross."

"He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.' "

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

"Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion."

"I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You [are] My Son, Today I have begotten You.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of [His] government and peace [There will be] no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

"And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God."

Nathanael answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

"For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

"For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,

" Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

"Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

"I and [My] Father are one."

"do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God."

but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God.
