"And Edom shall be a possession; Seir also, his enemies, shall be a possession, While Israel does valiantly.

Out of Jacob One shall have dominion, And destroy the remains of the city."

The cities at the limits of the tribe of the children of Judah, toward the border of Edom in the South, were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

'Men will buy fields for money, sign deeds and seal [them,] and take witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South; for I will cause their captives to return,' says the LORD."

That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name," Says the LORD who does this thing.

Even though Edom has said, "We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places," Thus says the LORD of hosts: "They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the LORD will have indignation forever.

Your eyes shall see, And you shall say, 'The LORD is magnified beyond the border of Israel.'

"This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all [that of] the Geshurites,

"from Sihor, which [is] east of Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron northward ([which] is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines -- the Gazites, the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites;

In the lowland: Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,

Ekron, with its towns and villages;

from Ekron to the sea, all that [lay] near Ashdod, with their villages;

Also Judah took Gaza with its territory, Ashkelon with its territory, and Ekron with its territory.

So the LORD was with Judah. And they drove out the mountaineers, but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the lowland, because they had chariots of iron.

Also the envy of Ephraim shall depart, And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, And Judah shall not harass Ephraim.

But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; Together they shall plunder the people of the East; They shall lay their hand on Edom and Moab; And the people of Ammon shall obey them.

'therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the seacoast.

I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn My hand against Ekron, And the remnant of the Philistines shall perish," Says the Lord GOD.

For Gaza shall be forsaken, And Ashkelon desolate; They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday, And Ekron shall be uprooted.

The seacoast shall be pastures, With shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks.

Ashkelon shall see [it] and fear; Gaza also shall be very sorrowful; And Ekron, for He dried up her expectation. The king shall perish from Gaza, And Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

I will take away the blood from his mouth, And the abominations from between his teeth. But he who remains, even he [shall be] for our God, And shall be like a leader in Judah, And Ekron like a Jebusite.

Then the king of Assyria brought [people] from Babylon, Cuthah, Ava, Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed [them] in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they took possession of Samaria and dwelt in its cities.

they came to Zerubbabel and the heads of the fathers' [houses,] and said to them, "Let us build with you, for we seek your God as you [do;] and we have sacrificed to Him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here."

From Rehum the commander, Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their companions -- [representatives] of the Dinaites, the Apharsathchites, the Tarpelites, the people of Persia and Erech and Babylon and Shushan, the Dehavites, the Elamites,

For God will save Zion And build the cities of Judah, That they may dwell there and possess it.

Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, And shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.

For there shall be a day [When] the watchmen will cry on Mount Ephraim, 'Arise, and let us go up [to] Zion, To the LORD our God.' "

"Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, and the valleys, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations."

" But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come.

"I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.

"Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their inheritance; no more shall you bereave them [of children."]

"Then say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;

"They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

"Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children's children, forever; and My servant David [shall be] their prince forever.

Thus says the Lord GOD: "These [are] the borders by which you shall divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph [shall have two] portions.

"This [shall be] the border of the land on the north: from the Great Sea, [by] the road to Hethlon, as one goes to Zedad,

"Thus the boundary shall be from the Sea to Hazar Enan, the border of Damascus; and as for the north, northward, it is the border of Hamath. [This is] the north side.

"The south side, toward the South, [shall be] from Tamar to the waters of Meribah by Kadesh, along the brook to the Great Sea. [This is] the south side, toward the South.

" Thus you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel.

"Now these [are] the names of the tribes: From the northern border along the road to Hethlon at the entrance of Hamath, to Hazar Enan, the border of Damascus northward, in the direction of Hamath, [there shall be] one [section for] Dan from its east to its west side;

"by the border of Asher, from the east side to the west, one [section for] Naphtali;

"by the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west, one [section for] Ephraim;

"by the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west, one [section for] Judah;

" The district that you shall set apart for the LORD [shall be] twenty-five thousand [cubits] in length and ten thousand in width.

Their territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, which [is] before Rabbah,

half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, [were] for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, for half of the children of Machir according to their families.

Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, according to their families, were Jericho, Beth Hoglah, Emek Keziz,

Avim, Parah, Ophrah,

Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,

Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,

So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, that is, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He carried the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh into captivity. He took them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan to this day.

Against the Ammonites. Thus says the LORD: "Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why [then] does Milcom inherit Gad, And his people dwell in its cities?

Thus says the LORD: "For three transgressions of the people of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away its [punishment,] Because they ripped open the women with child in Gilead, That they might enlarge their territory.

Shepherd Your people with Your staff, The flock of Your heritage, Who dwell solitarily [in] a woodland, In the midst of Carmel; Let them feed [in] Bashan and Gilead, As in days of old.
