"If a person commits a trespass, and sins unintentionally in regard to the holy things of the LORD, then he shall bring to the LORD as his trespass offering a ram without blemish from the flocks, with your valuation in shekels of silver according to the shekel of the sanctuary, as a trespass offering.

"It is a trespass offering; he has certainly trespassed against the LORD."

"Speak to the children of Israel: 'When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit in unfaithfulness against the LORD, and that person is guilty,

'But if the man has no relative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution for the wrong [must go] to the LORD for the priest, in addition to the ram of the atonement with which atonement is made for him.

Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done [this] evil in Your sight -- That You may be found just when You speak, [And] blameless when You judge.

' You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.

And the men of the place asked about his wife. And he said, "She [is] my sister"; for he was afraid to say, "[She is] my wife," [because he thought,] "lest the men of the place kill me for Rebekah, because she [is] beautiful to behold."

"You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and [does not] stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources,] for he is a liar and the father of it.

"While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."

Therefore, putting away lying, ["Let] each one [of you] speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

But outside [are] dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

" If a man delivers to his neighbor money or articles to keep, and it is stolen out of the man's house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.

" For any kind of trespass, [whether it concerns] an ox, a donkey, a sheep, or clothing, [or] for any kind of lost thing which [another] claims to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; [and] whomever the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor.

A distressing vision is declared to me; The treacherous dealer deals treacherously, And the plunderer plunders. Go up, O Elam! Besiege, O Media! All its sighing I have made to cease.

From the ends of the earth we have heard songs: "Glory to the righteous!" But I said, "I am ruined, ruined! Woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously, Indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously."

Woe to you who plunder, though you [have] not [been] plundered; And you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you! When you cease plundering, You will be plundered; When you make an end of dealing treacherously, They will deal treacherously with you.

[You are] of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, [And] hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A [person] more righteous than he?

Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause, For would you deceive with your lips?

[Is] the man [who] deceives his neighbor, And says, "I was only joking!"

In transgressing and lying against the LORD, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

So truth fails, And he [who] departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw [it,] and it displeased Him That [there was] no justice.

Everyone will deceive his neighbor, And will not speak the truth; They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves to commit iniquity.

Saying: "When will the New Moon be past, That we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, That we may trade wheat? Making the ephah small and the shekel large, Falsifying the scales by deceit,

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness In the house of the wicked, And the short measure [that is] an abomination?

For her rich men are full of violence, Her inhabitants have spoken lies, And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
