"Then you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin.

'And whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall certainly stone him, the stranger as well as him who is born in the land. When he blasphemes the name [of the] [Lord,] he shall be put to death.

" You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless who takes His name in vain.

"However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also [who is] born to you shall surely die."

and seat two men, scoundrels, before him to bear witness against him, saying, "You have blasphemed God and the king." [Then] take him out, and stone him, that he may die.

And two men, scoundrels, came in and sat before him; and the scoundrels witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth has blasphemed God and the king!" Then they took him outside the city and stoned him with stones, so that he died.

'nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, "The LORD will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria." '

'Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?' "

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who [was] over the household, Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with [their] clothes torn, and told him the words of [the] Rabshakeh.

And so it was, when King Hezekiah heard [it,] that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

And they said to him, "Thus says Hezekiah: 'This day [is] a day of trouble, and rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children have come to birth, but [there is] no strength to bring them forth.

'Who [was there] among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand?

Furthermore, his servants spoke against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.

Remember this, [that] the enemy has reproached, O LORD, And [that] a foolish people has blasphemed Your name.

Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily.

Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!

Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God."

They also set up false witnesses who said, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law;

For "the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is written.

although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did [it] ignorantly in unbelief.

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

And great hail from heaven fell upon men, [each hailstone] about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings [according to] the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly.

"But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!"

In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

"But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!"

Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!"

But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

They will pass through it hard pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

"And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be [that] every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear [the burden] with you.

So they judged the people at all times; the hard cases they brought to Moses, but they judged every small case themselves.

And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation.

Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp."
