"that Your eyes may be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, 'My name shall be there,' that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.

"Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, [and] hear my speech.

Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust [in You] From those who rise up [against them.]

"Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.

Look down from heaven, And see from Your habitation, holy and glorious. Where [are] Your zeal and Your strength, The yearning of Your heart and Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?

O LORD, why have You made us stray from Your ways, [And] hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants' sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.

We have become [like] those of old, over whom You never ruled, Those who were never called by Your name.

Will You restrain Yourself because of these [things,] O LORD? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely?

And the LORD said: "I have surely seen the oppression of My people who [are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine

[It is] burned with fire, [it is] cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.

Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.

"and [then] come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered to do all these abominations'?

Why should You be like a man astonished, Like a mighty one [who] cannot save? Yet You, O LORD, [are] in our midst, And we are called by Your name; Do not leave us!

Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.

"For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth," says the LORD of hosts.'

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

But we are all like an unclean [thing,] And all our righteousnesses [are] like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, Do it for Your name's sake; For our backslidings are many, We have sinned against You.

"Not for your sake do I do [this,"] says the Lord GOD, "let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel!"

"It may be that they will present their supplication before the LORD, and everyone will turn from his evil way. For great [is] the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people."

"Therefore please hear now, O my lord the king. Please, let my petition be accepted before you, and do not make me return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there."
