An end has come, The end has come; It has dawned for you; Behold, it has come!

For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

Fire has come out from a rod of her branches [And] devoured her fruit, So that she has no strong branch -- a scepter for ruling.' " This [is] a lamentation, and has become a lamentation.

Sharpened to make a dreadful slaughter, Polished to flash like lightning! Should we then make mirth? It despises the scepter of My Son, [As it does] all wood.

"Because [it is] a testing, And what if [the sword] despises even the scepter? [The scepter] shall be no [more,"] says the Lord GOD.

Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.

" Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hand is My indignation.

In the mouth of a fool [is] a rod of pride, But the lips of the wise will preserve them.

Pride [goes] before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, Whose glorious beauty [is] a fading flower Which [is] at the head of the verdant valleys, To those who are overcome with wine!

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works [are] truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
