The burden against the Wilderness of the Sea. As whirlwinds in the South pass through, [So] it comes from the desert, from a terrible land.

And the word of the LORD came to me the second time, saying, "What do you see?" And I said, "I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north."

Then the LORD said to me: "Out of the north calamity shall break forth On all the inhabitants of the land.

Set up the standard toward Zion. Take refuge! Do not delay! For I will bring disaster from the north, And great destruction."

"O you children of Benjamin, Gather yourselves to flee from the midst of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa, And set up a signal-fire in Beth Haccerem; For disaster appears out of the north, And great destruction.

Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD has gone forth in fury -- A violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.

'behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,' says the LORD, 'and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Behold, disaster shall go forth From nation to nation, And a great whirlwind shall be raised up From the farthest parts of the earth.

Their horses also are swifter than leopards, And more fierce than evening wolves. Their chargers charge ahead; Their cavalry comes from afar; They fly as the eagle [that] hastens to eat.

"They all come for violence; Their faces are set [like] the east wind. They gather captives like sand.

Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter [them] over the city." And he went in as I watched.

Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, [and paused] over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory.

Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who [were] in the camp trembled.

Now Mount Sinai [was] completely in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

The sight of the glory of the LORD [was] like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.

"Then you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness.

"And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; [you] only [heard] a voice.

indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers [were] as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, [saying:] "[For He is] good, For His mercy [endures] forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud,

so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.

Then Solomon spoke: "The LORD said He would dwell in the dark cloud.

When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the LORD, [saying:] "For [He is] good, For His mercy [endures] forever."

He made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him [was] dark waters [And] thick clouds of the skies.

The LORD thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice [are] the foundation of His throne.

A fire goes before Him, And burns up His enemies round about.

He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind,

Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.

The burden against Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

The LORD [is] slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit [the wicked.] The LORD has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds [are] the dust of His feet.

The mountains quake before Him, The hills melt, And the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and all who dwell in it.

God came from Teman, The Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of His praise.

Before Him went pestilence, And fever followed at His feet.

For our God [is] a consuming fire.

Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.

Then I looked, and there was a likeness, like the appearance of fire -- from the appearance of His waist and downward, fire; and from His waist and upward, like the appearance of brightness, like the color of amber.

The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man's hand under their wings.

And when I looked, there were four wheels by the cherubim, one wheel by one cherub and another wheel by each other cherub; the wheels appeared [to have] the color of a beryl stone.

His feet [were] like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;
