"See, O LORD, that I [am] in distress; My soul is troubled; My heart is overturned within me, For I have been very rebellious. Outside the sword bereaves, At home [it is] like death.

" See, O LORD, and consider! To whom have You done this? Should the women eat their offspring, The children they have cuddled? Should the priest and prophet be slain In the sanctuary of the Lord?

Remember my affliction and roaming, The wormwood and the gall.

"Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, '[If] you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations;

Oh, remember that my life [is] a breath! My eye will never again see good.

Remember, I pray, that You have made me like clay. And will You turn me into dust again?

O LORD, You know; Remember me and visit me, And take vengeance for me on my persecutors. In Your enduring patience, do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

O LORD, I have heard your speech [and] was afraid; O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make [it] known; In wrath remember mercy.

Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom."

All who pass by clap [their] hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem: "[Is] this the city that is called 'The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth'?"

You have heard their reproach, O LORD, All their schemes against me,

And they said to me, "The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province [are] there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem [is] also broken down, and its gates [are burned] with fire."

Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads, and give them as plunder to a land of captivity!

You make us a reproach to our neighbors, A scorn and a derision to those all around us.

My dishonor [is] continually before me, And the shame of my face has covered me,

O God, how long will the adversary reproach? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?

Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? [Take it] out of Your bosom and destroy [them.]

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, A scorn and derision to those who are around us.

And return to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.

Remember, Lord, the reproach of Your servants -- [How] I bear in my bosom [the reproach of] all the many peoples,

With which Your enemies have reproached, O LORD, With which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.

Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled With the scorn of those who are at ease, With the contempt of the proud.
