Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads, and give them as plunder to a land of captivity!

Do not cover their iniquity, and do not let their sin be blotted out from before You; for they have provoked [You] to anger before the builders.

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD, And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

Let them be continually before the LORD, That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

Remember, O LORD, against the sons of Edom The day of Jerusalem, Who said, "Raze [it,] raze [it,] To its very foundation!"

Happy the one who takes and dashes Your little ones against the rock!

Pour out Your fury on the Gentiles, who do not know You, And on the families who do not call on Your name; For they have eaten up Jacob, Devoured him and consumed him, And made his dwelling place desolate.

Yet, LORD, You know all their counsel Which is against me, to slay [me.] Provide no atonement for their iniquity, Nor blot out their sin from Your sight; But let them be overthrown before You. Deal [thus] with them In the time of Your anger.

Let the violence [done] to me and my flesh [be] upon Babylon," The inhabitant of Zion will say; "And my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea!" Jerusalem will say.

"For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?"

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"

"From above He has sent fire into my bones, And it overpowered them; He has spread a net for my feet And turned me back; He has made me desolate [And] faint all the day.

Because of this our heart is faint; Because of these [things] our eyes grow dim;

Therefore all hands will be limp, Every man's heart will melt,

I would comfort myself in sorrow; My heart [is] faint in me.

Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
