"[As] I live," says the King, Whose name [is] the LORD of hosts, "Surely as Tabor [is] among the mountains And as Carmel by the sea, [so] he shall come.

and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only [son -- ]

"but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD --

"they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it.

For I raise My hand to heaven, And say, "[As] I live forever,

I will make My arrows drunk with blood, And My sword shall devour flesh, With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the heads of the leaders of the enemy." '

My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.

The LORD has sworn by His right hand And by the arm of His strength: "Surely I will no longer give your grain [As] food for your enemies; And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, For which you have labored.

The Lord GOD has sworn by Himself, The LORD God of hosts says: "I abhor the pride of Jacob, And hate his palaces; Therefore I will deliver up [the] city And all that is in it."

The LORD has sworn by the pride of Jacob: "Surely I will never forget any of their works.

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?

For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,

that by two immutable things, in which it [is] impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before [us.]

But to the wicked God says: "What [right] have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,

" As for you, O house of Israel," thus says the Lord GOD: "Go, serve every one of you his idols -- and hereafter -- if you will not obey me; but profane My holy name no more with your gifts and your idols.

And when a relative [of the dead,] with one who will burn [the bodies,] picks up the bodies to take them out of the house, he will say to one inside the house, "[Are there] any more with you?" Then someone will say, "None." And he will say, "Hold your tongue! For we dare not mention the name of the LORD."

And you shall swear, 'The LORD lives,' In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; The nations shall bless themselves in Him, And in Him they shall glory."

Though they say, '[As] the LORD lives,' Surely they swear falsely."

"Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know,

"Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the LORD, And make mention of the God of Israel, [But] not in truth or in righteousness;

For they call themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts [is] His name:

"I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the [pagan] priests --

Those who worship the host of heaven on the housetops; Those who worship and swear [oaths] by the LORD, But who [also] swear by Milcom;
