"And they have built the high places of Tophet, which [is] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart.

" Therefore behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "when it will no more be called Tophet, or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter; for they will bury in Tophet until there is no room.

'And they built the high places of Baal which [are] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.'

And the border went up by the Valley of the Son of Hinnom to the southern slope of the Jebusite [city] (which [is] Jerusalem). The border went up to the top of the mountain that [lies] before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which [is] at the end of the Valley of Rephaim northward.

And he defiled Topheth, which [is] in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire to Molech.

He burned incense in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and burned his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; he practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft and sorcery, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.

After them Zadok the son of Immer made repairs in front of his [own] house. After him Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, made repairs.

But the LORD said to me: "Do not say, 'I [am] a youth,' For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

"Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say: 'Return, backsliding Israel,' says the LORD; 'I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I [am] merciful,' says the LORD; 'I will not remain angry forever.

"Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, all [you of] Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD!' "

Then the LORD said to me, "Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: 'Hear the words of this covenant and do them.

"Thus says the LORD: 'Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship [in] the LORD's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Do not diminish a word.

Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares.

"How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.

Moreover He said to me: "Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears.

"And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' whether they hear, or whether they refuse."

"Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you."

" Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.

"Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life."

"For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
