Thus the LORD said to me: "Go and get yourself a linen sash, and put it around your waist, but do not put it in water."

Thus says the LORD: "Go and get a potter's earthen flask, and [take] some of the elders of the people and some of the elders of the priests.

"And go out to the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which [is] by the entry of the Potsherd Gate; and proclaim there the words that I will tell you,

at the same time the LORD spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, "Go, and remove the sackcloth from your body, and take your sandals off your feet." And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

"You also, son of man, take a clay tablet and lay it before you, and portray on it a city, Jerusalem.

"Moreover take for yourself an iron plate, and set it [as] an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This [will be] a sign to the house of Israel.

"For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days; so you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall [made] with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand.

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings.

So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord [said] to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
