"But if you will not hear these words, I swear by Myself," says the LORD, "that this house shall become a desolation." ' "

If you will not hear, And if you will not take [it] to heart, To give glory to My name," Says the LORD of hosts, "I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take [it] to heart.

Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!

" Therefore you shall say this word to them: 'Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, And let them not cease; For the virgin daughter of my people Has been broken with a mighty stroke, with a very severe blow.

As for me, I have not hurried away from [being] a shepherd [who] follows You, Nor have I desired the woeful day; You know what came out of my lips; It was right there before You.

"I greatly regret that I have set up Saul [as] king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments." And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the LORD all night.

And Samuel went no more to see Saul until the day of his death. Nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul, and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

Rivers of water run down from my eyes, Because [men] do not keep Your law.

She weeps bitterly in the night, Her tears [are] on her cheeks; Among all her lovers She has none to comfort [her.] All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; They have become her enemies.

"For these [things] I weep; My eye, my eye overflows with water; Because the comforter, who should restore my life, Is far from me. My children are desolate Because the enemy prevailed."

Their heart cried out to the Lord, "O wall of the daughter of Zion, Let tears run down like a river day and night; Give yourself no relief; Give your eyes no rest.

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,

saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things [that make] for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart.

who are Israelites, to whom [pertain] the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service [of God,] and the promises;

The cities of the South shall be shut up, And no one shall open [them;] Judah shall be carried away captive, all of it; It shall be wholly carried away captive.

Lift up your eyes and see Those who come from the north. Where [is] the flock [that] was given to you, Your beautiful sheep?

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses [and] his people, [saying:] "Where [is] He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where [is] He who put His Holy Spirit within them,

"You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you [are] men, [and] I [am] your God," says the Lord GOD.

"Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I [am] the LORD." ' "
