" But you, Israel, [are] My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.

"And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.

And the LORD said: "I have surely seen the oppression of My people who [are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

"Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says the LORD: "Israel [is] My son, My firstborn.

"So I say to you, let My son go that he may serve Me. But if you refuse to let him go, indeed I will kill your son, your firstborn." ' "

'I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I [am] the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

'Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth [is] Mine.

'And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These [are] the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."

I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin.

God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,

Concerning the gospel [they are] enemies for your sake, but concerning the election [they are] beloved for the sake of the fathers.

" And of whom have you been afraid, or feared, That you have lied And not remembered Me, Nor taken [it] to your heart? Is it not because I have held My peace from of old That you do not fear Me?

Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, "All that the LORD has said we will do, and be obedient."

Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth, And they lied to Him with their tongue;

For their heart was not steadfast with Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.

I said, 'Surely you will fear Me, You will receive instruction' -- So that her dwelling would not be cut off, [Despite] everything for which I punished her. But they rose early and corrupted all their deeds.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!"

Therefore, putting away lying, ["Let] each one [of you] speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

Behold, God [is] my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; 'For YAH, the LORD, [is] my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.' "

For I [am] the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

I, [even] I, [am] the LORD, And besides Me [there is] no savior.

Happy [are] you, O Israel! Who [is] like you, a people saved by the LORD, The shield of your help And the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, And you shall tread down their high places."

They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,

O the Hope of Israel, his Savior in time of trouble, Why should You be like a stranger in the land, And like a traveler [who] turns aside to tarry for a night?

" Yet I [am] the LORD your God Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For [there is] no Savior besides Me.

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son [as] Savior of the world.

To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, [Be] glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.
