Your sons have fainted, They lie at the head of all the streets, Like an antelope in a net; They are full of the fury of the LORD, The rebuke of your God.

I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.

They did not cry out to Me with their heart When they wailed upon their beds. "They assemble together for grain and new wine, They rebel against Me;

Like a crane [or] a swallow, so I chattered; I mourned like a dove; My eyes fail [from looking] upward. O LORD, I am oppressed; Undertake for me!

I go about mourning, but not in the sun; I stand up in the assembly [and] cry out for help.

I am a brother of jackals, And a companion of ostriches.

"[We] looked for peace, but no good [came;] And for a time of health, and there was trouble!

Oh, that my head were waters, And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!

' Those who survive will escape and be on the mountains Like doves of the valleys, All of them mourning, Each for his iniquity.

Surely His salvation [is] near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.

Salvation [is] far from the wicked, For they do not seek Your statutes.
