Let the wilderness and its cities lift up [their voice,] The villages [that] Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, Let them shout from the top of the mountains.

I will lay waste the mountains and hills, And dry up all their vegetation; I will make the rivers coastlands, And I will dry up the pools.

I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

He raises the poor from the dust [And] lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set [them] among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth [are] the LORD's, And He has set the world upon them.

He raises the poor out of the dust, [And] lifts the needy out of the ash heap,

That He may seat [him] with princes -- With the princes of His people.

"And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the LORD, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the LORD, have spoken and have done [it."]

'thus says the Lord GOD: "Remove the turban, and take off the crown; Nothing [shall remain] the same. Exalt the humble, and humble the exalted.

He has put down the mighty from [their] thrones, And exalted [the] lowly.

He has filled [the] hungry with good things, And [the] rich He has sent away empty.

Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth;

"I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

For the day of the LORD of hosts [Shall come] upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up -- And it shall be brought low --

Upon all the high mountains, And upon all the hills [that are] lifted up;

Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone [who is] proud, and humble him.

Hide them in the dust together, Bind their faces in hidden [darkness.]

'I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron.

Whose ways [are] crooked, And [who are] devious in their paths;
