In that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which He waves over it.

"Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they [are] our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD [is] with us. Do not fear them."

Therefore their inhabitants had little power; They were dismayed and confounded; They were [as] the grass of the field And the green herb, [As] the grass on the housetops And [grain] blighted before it is grown.

A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

[It is] vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; [For] so He gives His beloved sleep.

" Go up on her walls and destroy, But do not make a complete end. Take away her branches, For they [are] not the LORD's.

'For though you had defeated the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and there remained [only] wounded men among them, they would rise up, every man in his tent, and burn the city with fire.' "

The voice said, "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh [is] grass, And all its loveliness [is] like the flower of the field.

The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever."

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.

You carry them away [like] a flood; [They are] like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass [which] grows up:

In the morning it flourishes and grows up; In the evening it is cut down and withers.

When the wicked spring up like grass, And when all the workers of iniquity flourish, [It is] that they may be destroyed forever.

[As for] man, his days [are] like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

Let them be as the grass [on] the housetops, Which withers before it grows up,

but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.

For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits.
