Thus says the LORD: "For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away its [punishment,] Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

For wickedness burns as the fire; It shall devour the briers and thorns, And kindle in the thickets of the forest; They shall mount up [like] rising smoke.

Fury [is] not in Me. Who would set briers [and] thorns Against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

Then the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when [people] arose early in the morning, there were the corpses -- all dead.

But [the sons] of rebellion [shall] all [be] as thorns thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with hands.

But the man [who] touches them Must be armed with iron and the shaft of a spear, And they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place."
