So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.

And he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes.

"But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,

"desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

" When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness [there is;]

"whatever prayer, whatever supplication is [made] by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to this temple:

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted.

They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying, 'Peace, peace!' When [there is] no peace.

" For thus says the LORD: 'Your affliction [is] incurable, Your wound [is] severe.

Your injury [has] no healing, Your wound is severe. All who hear news of you Will clap [their] hands over you, For upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?

For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole.

[There is] no soundness in my flesh Because of Your anger, Nor [any] health in my bones Because of my sin.

My wounds are foul [and] festering Because of my foolishness.

They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, Saying, 'Peace, peace!' When [there is] no peace.

For the hurt of the daughter of my people I am hurt. I am mourning; Astonishment has taken hold of me.

[Is there] no balm in Gilead, [Is there] no physician there? Why then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of my people?

'Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

Therefore I [will be] to Ephraim like a moth, And to the house of Judah like rottenness.

"When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah [saw] his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria And sent to King Jareb; Yet he cannot cure you, Nor heal you of your wound.

But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

When Jesus heard [that,] He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

"So he went to [him] and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
