I [say,] "Keep the king's commandment for the sake of your oath to God.

But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.

Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty.

And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.

Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments.

Ephraim is oppressed [and] broken in judgment, Because he willingly walked by [human] precept.

And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.

But Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men.

Therefore [you] must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake.

Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes [are due,] customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

And who [is] he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?

But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, [you are] blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled."

The wise man's eyes [are] in his head, But the fool walks in darkness. Yet I myself perceived That the same event happens to them all.

A wise man's heart [is] at his right hand, But a fool's heart at his left.

of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

Wisdom [is] in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool [are] on the ends of the earth.

"Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how [is it] you do not discern this time?

" Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know [them,] because they are spiritually discerned.

But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is [rightly] judged by no one.

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, [that is,] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
