"Then worthless rogues gathered to him, and strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and inexperienced and could not withstand them.

Manasseh [was] twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; he raised up altars for the Baals, and made wooden images; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

He even set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;

So Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to do more evil than the nations whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

Therefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, bound him with bronze [fetters,] and carried him off to Babylon.

and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD [was] God.

He took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem; and he cast [them] out of the city.

Nevertheless the people still sacrificed on the high places, [but] only to the LORD their God.

Also his prayer and [how God] received his entreaty, and all his sin and trespass, and the sites where he built high places and set up wooden images and carved images, before he was humbled, indeed they [are] written among the sayings of Hozai.

Jehoahaz [was] twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

Jehoiakim [was] twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD his God.

Jehoiachin [was] eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months and ten days. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD.

Zedekiah [was] twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

"I will give children [to be] their princes, And babes shall rule over them.

The people will be oppressed, Every one by another and every one by his neighbor; The child will be insolent toward the elder, And the base toward the honorable."

[As for] My people, children [are] their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause [you] to err, And destroy the way of your paths."

Wine [is] a mocker, Strong drink [is] a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

The wrath of a king [is] like the roaring of a lion; [Whoever] provokes him to anger sins [against] his own life.

Woe to those who rise early in the morning, [That] they may follow intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, [till] wine inflames them!

The harp and the strings, The tambourine and flute, And wine are in their feasts; But they do not regard the work of the LORD, Nor consider the operation of His hands.

But they also have erred through wine, And through intoxicating drink are out of the way; The priest and the prophet have erred through intoxicating drink, They are swallowed up by wine, They are out of the way through intoxicating drink; They err in vision, they stumble [in] judgment.

For all tables are full of vomit [and] filth; No place [is clean.]

In the day of our king Princes have made [him] sick, inflamed with wine; He stretched out his hand with scoffers.

They are all hot, like an oven, And have devoured their judges; All their kings have fallen. None among them calls upon Me.

'O house of David! Thus says the LORD: "Execute judgment in the morning; And deliver [him who is] plundered Out of the hand of the oppressor, Lest My fury go forth like fire And burn so that no one can quench [it,] Because of the evil of your doings.
