Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all [was] vanity and grasping for the wind. [There was] no profit under the sun.

For [God] gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who [is] good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to [him who is] good before God. This also [is] vanity and grasping for the wind.

"Come to Me, all [you] who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

Not only [that,] but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter -- On the side of their oppressors [there is] power, But they have no comforter.

Yet, better than both [is he] who has never existed, Who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

As for that which is far off and exceedingly deep, Who can find it out?

And I find more bitter than death The woman whose heart [is] snares and nets, Whose hands [are] fetters. He who pleases God shall escape from her, But the sinner shall be trapped by her.

There is one alone, without companion: He has neither son nor brother. Yet [there is] no end to all his labors, Nor is his eye satisfied with riches. [But he never asks,] "For whom do I toil and deprive myself of good?" This also [is] vanity and a grave misfortune.

He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also [is] vanity.

When goods increase, They increase who eat them; So what profit have the owners Except to see [them] with their eyes?

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied.

The leech has two daughters -- Give [and] Give! There are three [things that] are never satisfied, Four never say, "Enough!":

The grave, The barren womb, The earth [that] is not satisfied with water -- And the fire never says, "Enough!"

Blessed [are] those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

"They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;

"for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
