From the chamber [of the south] comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds [of the north.]

Why [are] your garments hot, When He quiets the earth by the south [wind?]

For He commands and raises the stormy wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea.

He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.

But the LORD sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.

" Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

"and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained [their] desire, putting out to sea, they sailed close by Crete.

So when the ship was caught, and could not head into the wind, we let [her] drive.
