He who mistreats [his] father [and] chases away [his] mother [Is] a son who causes shame and brings reproach.

And he said to his mother, "The eleven hundred [shekels] of silver that were taken from you, and on which you put a curse, even saying it in my ears -- here [is] the silver with me; I took it." And his mother said, "[May you be] blessed by the LORD, my son!"

"For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.'

'then he need not honor his father or mother.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

Whoever keeps the law [is] a discerning son, But a companion of gluttons shames his father.

He who walks with wise [men] will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

He who is slothful in his work Is a brother to him who is a great destroyer.
