Happy [is] the man who is always reverent, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

He who is often rebuked, [and] hardens [his] neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

"Lift up your eyes to the desolate heights and see: Where have you not lain [with men?] By the road you have sat for them Like an Arabian in the wilderness; And you have polluted the land With your harlotries and your wickedness.

Therefore the showers have been withheld, And there has been no latter rain. You have had a harlot's forehead; You refuse to be ashamed.

O LORD, [are] not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, But they have not grieved; You have consumed them, But they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to return.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, Nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; In the time of their punishment They shall be cast down," says the LORD.

"[As for] the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you!

"But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For [then] we had plenty of food, were well-off, and saw no trouble.

The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.

I thought about my ways, And turned my feet to Your testimonies.

"Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: "Consider your ways!

Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Consider your ways!

' And now, carefully consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the LORD --

'Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid -- consider it:

'Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded [fruit. But] from this day I will bless [you.'] "

"But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

'I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,

Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.
