Much food [is in] the fallow [ground] of the poor, And for lack of justice there is waste.

Where no oxen [are,] the trough [is] clean; But much increase [comes] by the strength of an ox.

In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter [leads] only to poverty.

[You shall have] enough goats' milk for your food, For the food of your household, And the nourishment of your maidservants.

He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who follows frivolity will have poverty enough!

In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you [are,] And to dust you shall return."

When you eat the labor of your hands, You [shall be] happy, and [it shall be] well with you.

Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with [his] hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and [that] you may lack nothing.

nor did we eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you,

My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.

Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down to the Pit;

Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse" --

For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood.

But they lie in wait for their [own] blood, They lurk secretly for their [own] lives.

Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil.

Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on.

Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; He [who] does so destroys his own soul.

And saw among the simple, I perceived among the youths, A young man devoid of understanding,

Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding.

A foolish woman is clamorous; [She is] simple, and knows nothing.

"Whoever [is] simple, let him turn in here"; And [as for] him who lacks understanding, she says to him,

He who walks with wise [men] will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

So they gave him seventy [shekels] of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men; and they followed him.

I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites.

"Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy.

For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.
