And I said: "I pray, LORD God of heaven, O great and awesome God, [You] who keep [Your] covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,

" Now therefore, our God, The great, the mighty, and awesome God, Who keeps covenant and mercy: Do not let all the trouble seem small before You That has come upon us, Our kings and our princes, Our priests and our prophets, Our fathers and on all Your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until this day.

But You, O Lord, [are] a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.

'[You] show lovingkindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them -- the Great, the Mighty God, whose name [is] the LORD of hosts.

And I prayed to the LORD my God, and made confession, and said, "O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,

Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

But [there is] forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

"To the Lord our God [belong] mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.

Who [is] a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights [in] mercy.

"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

"But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

" Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy [against] the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

"Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.

"And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.

"And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?"

Then He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

"Him God has exalted to His right hand [to be] Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

"Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins;

"Blessed [are those] whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered;

Blessed [is the] man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin."

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

"Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.

"Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name [is] in Him.

'The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears [the guilty,] visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth [generation.']

Then the LORD said: "I have pardoned, according to your word;

"because all these men who have seen My glory and the signs which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice,

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in [due] time; For the day of their calamity [is] at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.'

But Joshua said to the people, "You cannot serve the LORD, for He [is] a holy God. He [is] a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

If I sin, then You mark me, And will not acquit me of my iniquity.

The LORD is known [by] the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah

The wicked shall be turned into hell, [And] all the nations that forget God.

The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.

Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind [Shall be] the portion of their cup.

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,

So that men will say, "Surely [there is] a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth."

To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn, For His mercy [endures] forever;

But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, For His mercy [endures] forever;

Tell and bring forth [your case;] Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? [Who] has told it from that time? [Have] not I, the LORD? And [there is] no other God besides Me, A just God and a Savior; [There is] none besides Me.

Shall I count pure [those] with the wicked scales, And with the bag of deceitful weights?

God [is] jealous, and the LORD avenges; The LORD avenges and [is] furious. The LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves [wrath] for His enemies;

The LORD [is] slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit [the wicked.] The LORD has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds [are] the dust of His feet.

Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, And the rocks are thrown down by Him.

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

who "will render to each one according to his deeds":

but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness -- indignation and wrath,

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

whom God set forth [as] a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

[What] if God, wanting to show [His] wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,

and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,

For our God [is] a consuming fire.

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me,
