" I [am] the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

"But this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

'For I [am] the LORD your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I [am] holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

'Therefore you shall keep My ordinance, so that [you] do not commit [any] of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves by them: I [am] the LORD your God.' "

"Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: 'You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God [am] holy.

" Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "On the day when I chose Israel and raised My hand in an oath to the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, I raised My hand in an oath to them, saying, 'I [am] the LORD your God.'
