Blessed [are] the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, So [is] my beloved among the sons. I sat down in his shade with great delight, And his fruit [was] sweet to my taste. THE SHULAMITE TO THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM

Your lips [are] like a strand of scarlet, And your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil [Are] like a piece of pomegranate.

Your plants [are] an orchard of pomegranates With pleasant fruits, Fragrant henna with spikenard,

Like a piece of pomegranate [Are] your temples behind your veil.

I went down to the garden of nuts To see the verdure of the valley, To see whether the vine had budded [And] the pomegranates had bloomed.

I would lead you [and] bring you Into the house of my mother, She [who] used to instruct me. I would cause you to drink of spiced wine, Of the juice of my pomegranate. (TO THE DAUGHTERS OF JERUSALEM)

"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.

"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

which has come to you, as [it has] also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as [it is] also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing [Him,] being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
