[People] do not despise a thief If he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving.

Yet [when] he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house.

" As the thief is ashamed when he is found out, So is the house of Israel ashamed; They and their kings and their princes, and their priests and their prophets,

This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
