" And he who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

" And he who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

' Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths: I [am] the LORD your God.

' You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I [am] the LORD.

Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her and bowed down to her, and sat down on his throne and had a throne set for the king's mother; so she sat at his right hand.

And Elisha saw [it,] and he cried out, "My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!" So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.

My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother;

For they [will be] a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck.

A fool despises his father's instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent.

Whoever curses his father or his mother, His lamp will be put out in deep darkness.

Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old.

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, And he who begets a wise [child] will delight in him.

Whoever robs his father or his mother, And says, "[It is] no transgression," The same [is] companion to a destroyer.

[There is] a generation [that] curses its father, And does not bless its mother.

The eye [that] mocks [his] father, And scorns obedience to [his] mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young eagles will eat it.

" A son honors [his] father, And a servant [his] master. If then I am the Father, Where [is] My honor? And if I [am] a Master, Where [is] My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, 'In what way have we despised Your name?'

"For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.'

'then he need not honor his father or mother.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

"You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Honor your father and your mother.' "

submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

"that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you will soon utterly perish from the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess; you will not prolong [your] days in it, but will be utterly destroyed.

"You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong [your] days in the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time."

"You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

"For it [is] not a futile thing for you, because it [is] your life, and by this word you shall prolong [your] days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess."

Length of days [is] in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.
