Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah be glad, Because of Your judgments.

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,

So that men will say, "Surely [there is] a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth."

Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,

That they may know that You, whose name alone [is] the LORD, [Are] the Most High over all the earth.

"And the Egyptians shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them."

"Then I will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I [am] the LORD." And they did so.

And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.

Thus Israel saw the great work which the LORD had done in Egypt; so the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD and His servant Moses.

"so that the coming generation of your children who rise up after you, and the foreigner who comes from a far land, would say, when they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses which the LORD has laid on it:

"All nations would say, 'Why has the LORD done so to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?'

'for they went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they did not know and that He had not given to them.

'And the LORD uprooted them from their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as [it is] this day.'

"For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who [were] on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

"And as soon as we heard [these things,] our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He [is] God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

And Adoni-Bezek said, "Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather [scraps] under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me." Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

Then He struck the men of Beth Shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD. He struck fifty thousand and seventy men of the people, and the people lamented because the LORD had struck the people with a great slaughter.

And the men of Beth Shemesh said, "Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? And to whom shall it go up from us?"

"This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

"Now therefore, O LORD our God, I pray, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You [are] the LORD God, You alone."

'For I will defend this city, to save it For My own sake and for My servant David's sake.' "

And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when [people] arose early in the morning, there were the corpses -- all dead.

Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind [Shall be] the portion of their cup.

"[As for] the head of those who surround me, Let the evil of their lips cover them;

You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.

The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of [his] lips, But the righteous will come through trouble.

And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken, Be snared and taken."

But the word of the LORD was to them, "Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little," That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
