For the terrible one is brought to nothing, The scornful one is consumed, And all who watch for iniquity are cut off --

Who make a man an offender by a word, And lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, And turn aside the just by empty words.

Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in [His] talk.

and said, "This [fellow] said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.' "

lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, that they might accuse Him.

Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable [people] twist to their own destruction, as [they do] also the rest of the Scriptures.

Then Saul said to David, "Here is my older daughter Merab; I will give her to you as a wife. Only be valiant for me, and fight the LORD's battles." For Saul thought, "Let my hand not be against him, but let the hand of the Philistines be against him."

So Saul said, "I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him." Therefore Saul said to David a second time, "You shall be my son-in-law today."

and Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul became David's enemy continually.

"If he says thus: '[It is] well,' your servant will be safe. But if he is very angry, [then] be sure that evil is determined by him.

Then Saul cast a spear at him to kill him, by which Jonathan knew that it was determined by his father to kill David.

Then they said, "Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words."

Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve.

And they were glad, and agreed to give him money.
