Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments [are] good.

So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word.

Deliver me from all my transgressions; Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.

[As] with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, "Where [is] your God?"

You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, When it was weary.

The Lord gave the word; Great [was] the company of those who proclaimed [it:]

Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled With the scorn of those who are at ease, With the contempt of the proud.

Then Nabal answered David's servants, and said, "Who [is] David, and who [is] the son of Jesse? There are many servants nowadays who break away each one from his master.

So when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, "Blessed [be] the LORD, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept His servant from evil! For the LORD has returned the wickedness of Nabal on his own head." And David sent and proposed to Abigail, to take her as his wife.

Also Shimei said thus when he cursed: "Come out! Come out! You bloodthirsty man, you rogue!

"The LORD has brought upon you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned; and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son. So now you [are caught] in your own evil, because you are a bloodthirsty man!"

My friends scorn me; My eyes pour out [tears] to God.

"How long will you torment my soul, And break me in pieces with words?

These ten times you have reproached me; You are not ashamed [that] you have wronged me.

Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

For what credit [is it] if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this [is] commendable before God.

having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

For [it is] better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed [are you,] for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

Yet if [anyone suffers] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.
