For the LORD has poured out on you The spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, [namely,] the seers.

Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, "Read this, please." And he says, "I am not literate."

The eyes of those who see will not be dim, And the ears of those who hear will listen.

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

"Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed [this] to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."

'to open their eyes, [in order] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'

But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the [veil] is taken away in Christ.

Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

"I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, [that] the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

I have seen the consummation of all perfection, [But] Your commandment [is] exceedingly broad.

I have written for him the great things of My law, [But] they were considered a strange thing.

unlike Moses, [who] put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away.

who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, "See [that] you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
