Even when I remember I am terrified, And trembling takes hold of my flesh.

I [have been] afflicted and ready to die from [my] youth; I suffer Your terrors; I am distraught.

Your fierce wrath has gone over me; Your terrors have cut me off.

My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments.

"Truly I know [it is] so, But how can a man be righteous before God?

Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me; Though I [were] blameless, it would prove me perverse.

"I am blameless, yet I do not know myself; I despise my life.

For now You number my steps, But do not watch over my sin.

" You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless who takes His name in vain.

If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?
