Behold, this we have searched out; It [is] true. Hear it, and know for yourself."

Indeed I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, while you searched out what to say.

" They are dismayed and answer no more; Words escape them.

And I have waited, because they did not speak, Because they stood still [and] answered no more.

"But please, Job, hear my speech, And listen to all my words.

"Give ear, Job, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will speak.

If not, listen to me; Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom."

Teach me [what] I do not see; If I have done iniquity, I will do no more'?

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

Give [instruction] to a wise [man,] and he will be still wiser; Teach a just [man,] and he will increase in learning.

[Like] an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold [Is] a wise rebuker to an obedient ear.

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

I was mute with silence, I held my peace [even] from good; And my sorrow was stirred up.

For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he [is] a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

I will say to God, 'Do not condemn me; Show me why You contend with me.

Who can understand [his] errors? Cleanse me from secret [faults.]
