He deprives the trusted ones of speech, And takes away the discernment of the elders.

For You have hidden their heart from understanding; Therefore You will not exalt [them.]

And He said, "Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'

"Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed."

The burden against Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

Let his heart be changed from [that of] a man, Let him be given the heart of a beast, And let seven times pass over him.

That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles' [feathers] and his nails like birds' [claws.]

" Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense -- They call to Egypt, They go to Assyria.

They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in.

He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness [where there is] no way;
