I have considered until morning -- Like a lion, So He breaks all my bones; From day until night You make an end of me.

He [has been] to me a bear lying in wait, [Like] a lion in ambush.

"So I will be to them like a lion; Like a leopard by the road I will lurk;

A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

"If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are visited by the common fate of all men, [then] the LORD has not sent me.

"But if the LORD creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the LORD."

"then the LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues -- great and prolonged plagues -- and serious and prolonged sicknesses.
