And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans.

Behold, the land of the Chaldeans, This people [which] was not; Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert. They set up its towers, They raised up its palaces, [And] brought it to ruin.

For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places [that are] not theirs.
