So the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which [is] the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third [day;] and it was written, according to all that Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, the satraps, the governors, and the princes of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces [in all,] to every province in its own script, to every people in their own language, and to the Jews in their own script and language.

"Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this."

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything.

And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

"So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.

And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

"Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

"Cretans and Arabs -- we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God."

yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.

Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.
