Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.

I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates --

And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only [son,] from Me."

"And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, 'I have found David the [son] of Jesse, a man after My [own] heart, who will do all My will.'

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting [me] into the ministry,

although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did [it] ignorantly in unbelief.

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten [son,]

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God.

Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." And there he built an altar to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates --

"And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.

"Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only [son -- ]

"In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

"but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

"Therefore know that the LORD your God, He [is] God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

"[It is] not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart [that] you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations [that] the LORD your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

He remembers His covenant forever, The word [which] He commanded, for a thousand generations,

[The covenant] which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,

To perform the mercy [promised] to our fathers And to remember His holy covenant,

The oath which He swore to our father Abraham:

On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates --

"the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim,

"So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

"and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey." '

"When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,

And it came to pass when all the kings who [were] on this side of the Jordan, in the hills and in the lowland and in all the coasts of the Great Sea toward Lebanon -- the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite -- heard [about it,]

to the Canaanites in the east and in the west, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the mountains, and the Hivite below Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

"And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, 'I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come to the country which the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.'

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land rested from war.

So the LORD gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it.

Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

" Behold, this day I [am] going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness.

He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, And they inherited the labor of the nations,

"God [is] not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,

To declare that the LORD is upright; [He is] my rock, and [there is] no unrighteousness in Him.

in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,

that by two immutable things, in which it [is] impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before [us.]

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
