"Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they [are] our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD [is] with us. Do not fear them."

'Look, the LORD your God has set the land before you; go up [and] possess [it,] as the LORD God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.'

"Then I said to you, 'Do not be terrified, or afraid of them.

'The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,

"And he shall say to them, 'Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them;

'for the LORD your God [is] He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.'

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God [is] with you wherever you go."

And he said, "Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle [is] not yours, but God's.

'You will not [need] to fight in this [battle.] Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD [is] with you."

"Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that [is] with him; for [there are] more with us than with him.

A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD [is] the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

The LORD of hosts [is] with us; The God of Jacob [is] our refuge. Selah

Fear not, for I [am] with you; Be not dismayed, for I [am] your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

You shall seek them and not find them -- Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing.

" Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you," says the LORD And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

So we may boldly say: "The LORD [is] my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

And I said, "This [is] my anguish; [But I will remember] the years of the right hand of the Most High."

I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds.

You [are] the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.

The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were afraid; The depths also trembled.

The voice of Your thunder [was] in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.

You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.

" I, [even] I, [am] He who comforts you. Who [are] you that you should be afraid Of a man [who] will die, And of the son of a man [who] will be made like grass?

And you forget the LORD your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth; You have feared continually every day Because of the fury of the oppressor, When [he has] prepared to destroy. And where [is] the fury of the oppressor?

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses [and] his people, [saying:] "Where [is] He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where [is] He who put His Holy Spirit within them,

Who led them through the deep, As a horse in the wilderness, [That] they might not stumble?"

And I said: "I pray, LORD God of heaven, O great and awesome God, [You] who keep [Your] covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,

"For the LORD your God [is] God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.

He comes from the north [as] golden [splendor;] With God [is] awesome majesty.

[By] awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, [You who are] the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of the far-off seas;

Say to God, "How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.

Come and see the works of God; [He is] awesome [in His] doing toward the sons of men.

Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence --

When You did awesome things [for which] we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence.

God [is] jealous, and the LORD avenges; The LORD avenges and [is] furious. The LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves [wrath] for His enemies;

He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, And dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel wither, And the flower of Lebanon wilts.

Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, And the rocks are thrown down by Him.

(For they could not endure what was commanded: "And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow."

And so terrifying was the sight [that] Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.")

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

For our God [is] a consuming fire.

"Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do [what is] good in His sight."
