The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple;

The fear of the LORD [is] clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD [are] true [and] righteous altogether.

Moreover by them Your servant is warned, [And] in keeping them [there is] great reward.

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!

For the commandment [is] a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction [are] the way of life,

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.

Now the rest of the people -- the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and all those who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, everyone who had knowledge and understanding --

"Now therefore, make confession to the LORD God of your fathers, and do His will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the pagan wives."

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, [and] to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds -- a great deal of livestock.

Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: "Who will give us meat to eat?
