These sought their listing [among] those who were registered by genealogy, but it was not found; therefore they were excluded from the priesthood as defiled.

And the governor said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things till a priest could consult with the Urim and Thummim.

Then the priests and Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, the gates, and the wall.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the LORD all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

He said to them, "You [are] the heads of the fathers' [houses] of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel to [the place] I have prepared for it.

So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.

Then he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them in the East Square,

and said to them: "Hear me, Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the holy [place.]

And the priests killed them; and they presented their blood on the altar as a sin offering to make an atonement for all Israel, for the king commanded [that] the burnt offering and the sin offering [be made] for all Israel.

Then Hezekiah commanded [them] to offer the burnt offering on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD [also] began, with the trumpets and with the instruments of David king of Israel.

Moreover King Hezekiah and the leaders commanded the Levites to sing praise to the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

Kings shall be your foster fathers, And their queens your nursing mothers; They shall bow down to you with [their] faces to the earth, And lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I [am] the LORD, For they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me."

Jeshua begot Joiakim, Joiakim begot Eliashib, Eliashib begot Joiada,

' Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.

Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for its services!

and [to bringing] the wood offering and the firstfruits at appointed times. Remember me, O my God, for good!

Remember me, my God, for good, [according to] all that I have done for this people.

A Song of Ascents. LORD, remember David [And] all his afflictions;

"Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, Or go up to the comfort of my bed;

Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."

and said, "Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done [what is] good in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they [are] from of old.

Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness' sake, O LORD.

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.

If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

But [there is] forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD [there is] mercy, And with Him [is] abundant redemption.

A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, [And] in Your righteousness.

Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no one living is righteous.

But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.

Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
