But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so to me; for it [would be] better for me to die than that anyone should make my boasting void.

For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true.

this Ezra came up from Babylon; and he [was] a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given. The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

On the first [day] of the first month he began [his] journey from Babylon, and on the first [day] of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

and has extended mercy to me before the king and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty princes. So I was encouraged, as the hand of the LORD my God [was] upon me; and I gathered leading men of Israel to go up with me.

" As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of [those] whose heart [is] loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars."

Behold, the eye of the LORD [is] on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy,

To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.

The eyes of the LORD [are] on the righteous, And His ears [are open] to their cry.

The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

" Say to the righteous that [it shall be] well [with them,] For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

Woe to the wicked! [It shall be] ill [with him,] For the reward of his hands shall be given him.

The LORD [is] good to those who wait for Him, To the soul [who] seeks Him.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to [His] purpose.

For the eyes of the LORD [are] on the righteous, And His ears [are open] to their prayers; But the face of the LORD [is] against those who do evil."

"When you have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed down to them, then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which He has given you."

And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: "Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD [is] with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You.

You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them.

The face of the LORD [is] against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, [so is] Your wrath.

" I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land," Says the LORD;

"I will stretch out My hand against Judah, And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place, The names of the idolatrous priests with the [pagan] priests --

Those who have turned back from [following] the LORD, And have not sought the LORD, nor inquired of Him."

Now the just shall live by faith; But if [anyone] draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him."

For the eyes of the LORD [are] on the righteous, And His ears [are open] to their prayers; But the face of the LORD [is] against those who do evil."
