The lot for the East [Gate] fell to Shelemiah. Then they cast lots [for] his son Zechariah, a wise counselor, and his lot came out for the North Gate;

Hiram also said: Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He has given King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for the LORD and a royal house for himself!

For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth [come] knowledge and understanding;

Counsel in the heart of man [is like] deep water, But a man of understanding will draw it out.

Because of the transgression of a land, many [are] its princes; But by a man of understanding [and] knowledge Right will be prolonged.

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.

Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
